Cycling Donauradweg

Viziru – Brăila – Tulcea - Danube Delta

Description

Today I started early to Brăila, where I took the ferry to the right side of the Danube. There the landscape was beautifully marshy and hilly. One could usually take the momentum downhill well so the roads were perfect for cycling. During the day while checking my bicycle I noticed, that for the second time on the tour the screw holding the rear brake was loose and just before to fell off. So I oiled the bike and tightened the screw. Later I had to change the front derailleur cable after it broke.
In the evening a thunderstorm passed in front of me, which grew up in the Ukraine. Fortunately I only got a few drops, but it must have rained more, because the roads were wet and partly flooded with mud. Once during the descent through the mud I could only correct by balancing, because my narrow front wheel (25mm) did not get any more grip downhill. In the evening I spent the night again directly at the road and drove as far as possible to be able to reach Constanța my final goal the next day.
