Klížska Nemá - Border Slovakia/Hungary - Esztergom - Szentendre - Budapest
Description
The last 20 km of Slovakia on a deep gravel road were very exhausting to cycle and towards the end of Slovakia the road was also closed without any warning due to a construction site so that I had to push my bicycle 1 km through a field and continue on the main road.
In Hungary I continued on the road. Worth seeing was the cathedral in Esztergom. Unfortunately, several welds of my front carrier broke on Esztergom's cobblestone pavement so that I had to improvise.
Afterwards I drove over the hills through a national park to Szentendre instead of continuing on the road next to the river. Unfortunately there were again a lot of cobblestones in Szentendre‘s old town, that the suspension of my rear carrier broke also. The following cycling path‘s sourrounding, along the river to Budapest was very nice, but I could not enjoy it because I had to cycle carefully and very concentrated due to its many potholes and unevenness making it better suited for mountainbikes.
